Gordon Albrecht, 74, passed away September 22, 2017. Don't believe any of the coffee mugs that you may have seen because the "World's Greatest Dad" passed away on Friday. Along with being the world's greatest dad and grandfather, he was the world's greatest husband to his beloved Eileen for 50 years. Gordon was an Industrial Arts teacher for over 40 years. He began his career at Lafayette Junior High School in Morristown and then moved to Macopin Middle School for 24 years in his hometown of West Milford, N.J. He was a graduate of Newark State College with a BA in Education and a MA in Psychology. In addition to teaching, Gordon was an extremely talented cabinet and furniture maker. His talents were also used to construct stage sets for Belleville Middle School, St. Anthony of Padua in Butler and Memorial Elementary School in Washington. His passion in life, outside of his family, was his model boats and airplanes, which won prestigious awards for their craftmanship. He was a member of the South Orange Seaport and Garden State Circle Burners clubs. He also maintained a menagerie of chickens, ducks, cats and dogs at their homestead of forty five years. He will be sorely missed by friends and neighbors who relied on his helping hands and selflessness. Everyone who knew Gordon loved him for the man he was. Gordon was genuine, kind, compassionate, loving and dedicated to his beloved wife, children and grandchildren. He leaves behind a legacy that they will treasure forever and will carry with them throughout their lives. Gordon leaves behind his beloved wife, Eileen; his children, Glenn Albrecht and his wife, Katherine, Lisa Schmidt and her husband, Joseph; his precious grandchildren, Austin and Olivia Gill and their dad Drew Gill, Julia Schmidt, Gretchen, Amelia and Kiersten Albrecht.
