De Palma, Nicholas 77 of West Milford on Saturday, August 29, 2009. Born in Clifton, he was the son of the late Jacob and Vittoria (Di Lauro) De Palma. Mr. De Palma was a self-employed appliance repairman and furniture maker and was well know in "magic circles" for his many innovative handmade custom magic trick designs. He enjoyed cooking for friends and family, fishing, swimming, trips to Hawaii and a natural mentor to many. Surviving are his wife, Marcella (Hernandez) De Palma; one stepson, Abel Van Riper; three daughters, Linda Francis and husband, Michael, Tanya Carter and husband Bob, Brenda Bergquist and husband Ed; one brother, Al De Palma; one sister, Ida Carey; predeceased by his brother, Vito. Also survived by seven grandchildren, Nicole, Justin, Michael, Rachael, Aley, Damian and Devon; 2 great grandchildren, Emily and Madison and several nieces and nephews. Prayer service on Tuesday, September 1 at 8:30 PM at the Richards Funeral Home, 1440 Union Valley Road, West Milford. Friends may call on Tuesday. 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Final disposition is private. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to a charity of your choice in his name.
